TESTING THE NEXT AND BACK BUTTONS

During their year in residence, the Topol Fellows will be responsible for planning and coordinating the Sidney Topol Lecture in Nonviolence which will bring to campus a leader in the field. Following their academic year in residence, Topol Fellows will secure required practicum placements in organizations that use nonviolent methods to achieve sustainable peace, or in organizations committed to developing such methods. Topol Fellows are required to produce a report detailing their experiences at Heller and in the field, and to share their expectations for furthering a career focused on the use of nonviolent methods in conflict-ridden areas.
In the movies and perhaps for some women, your water bursts (unceremoniously) once. However, that may not be the truth. The water, which is the amniotic fluid that protects your baby, can trickle down all day long. The continuous trickling calls for a giant maxi pad, and unfortunately, this is the beginning of your maxi pad journey.
Heard of squirt bottles for giving birth? They’re actually called perineum irrigation, which is known for squirting warm water after going to the loo to ensure your stitches (if you have them) aren’t irritated, along with ensuring you aren’t rough with yourself.

9. Too Much Of Sweat In The Nights
Sweaty nights are something to get used to for the first few weeks. You can wake up in massive sweats that make you wonder if you’re down with the flu. The sweating can occur throughout the night and may call for a change of sheets.

10. You Might Wear A ‘Mommy Diaper’:

Maxi pads that are worn when your water breaks and during post-pregnancy for your period, can be known as “mommy diapers”. They are literally diapers for new mothers. Yes, they do help with blood, but did you know they have another use? This glorified diaper has ice in it to provide relief from the post-birth.
We sincerely hope we haven’t petrified you with these hidden secrets. On the bright side, you will now be even more prepared for whatever giving birth may throw at you.

The 5 Most Stolen Hotel Items

Hotels expect you to take certain things from rooms (travel-sized toiletry bottles are fair game, for example). But when guests start to steal bigger items, that’s when it crosses the line into theft—and why hotels will put a little notice in the room letting you know that if the robe goes missing, it will be added to your bill at checkout.

The luxury hotel and spa guide Wellness Heaven surveyed 1,157 hotels to determine what the most commonly stolen items are. The top five: towels, bathrobes, hangers, pens, and cutlery.
Stealing soaps or pens seems harmless for many hotel guests, however, some are so bold that they carry TVs, pianos, mattresses or even stuffed animals out of the hotel. Wellness Heaven has asked 1,157 hoteliers which items are most commonly stolen. In particular, we observe a striking difference in the theft behavior between guests in 4-star and 5-star hotels.

The main result of the study: the overwhelming majority of guests steal towels and bathrobes – perhaps as a goodie for the next spa break? These two objects of desire are closely followed by hangers, pens, and cutlery. In addition to these "ordinary" items, there is a number of spectacular outliers that suggest a brisk imagination of the delinquents:

A Grand Piano

A hotelier from Italy: "Once I walked through the lobby, I noticed that something was missing, and soon after I learned that three unknown men in overalls had taken away the grand piano, and it never reappeared, of course."

Bathroom Fittings

Highly skilled craftsmanship was required of those guests who managed to steal bathroom fixtures, the head of a rain shower, a hydromassage shower, a toilet seat, a drainpipe or even an entire sink, as reported by a Berlin hotel.

Windowless Planes Will Give Passengers a Panoramic View of the Sky

img
Fighting over the window seat has existed since air travel was invented. However, with the new idea of producing windowless planes, there is no more need to look for special places in the plane, because every passenger will be with the equal opportunities for the panoramic view of the sky. The Center for Process Innovation is a leading technology and research company from the UK, which is creating the future of air travel!
The advanced planes will be windowless, which, instead of windows will have the entire length of the plane covered in OLED touch screens. This type of plane will provide everyone in the plane with a virtual window seat!
The experts believe that within 10 to 15 years these planes could hopefully be a reality!
All over the outside of the plane will be placed on cameras that are connected with the touch screens above the passengers. On the screens will be displayed a realistic view of what is going on around the plane outside.
However, for those who are getting sick of looking at the sky, there is an opportunity to turn the virtual window into an entertainment system.
What is OLED-touch screen technology?
OLED means an organic light-emitting diode, where is a film comprised of organic compounds capable of projecting light as a reaction to an electrical current.
Maybe that sounds scientific, but the use of this technology is a reality in televisions, tablets, computer monitors, and mobile phones. Of course, every advanced screen on the market will be used by the time these planes are actually manufactured.
The entire walls of the plane will be filled with screens, so the passengers could look out at the view surrounding them.
The experts are sure that the projections on the screens will reflect the real world outside, which will be a challenge for a few conspiracy theorists.
There are also disadvantages of this new concept, including the raised concerns that many people have when there is a higher amount of light, which can also cause some passengers discomfort.

Does travel insurance cover if you have to cancel?

What does Cancellation cover me for?

Although we don’t like to think about it, sometimes unexpected events happen and as a result, we are forced to cancel our dream holiday. Should this happen your travel insurance policy will reimburse pre-paid, non-refundable costs.
The majority of travel insurance policies will provide cancellation cover for the following limited reasons;
  • Death, injury or illness of you or a traveling companion
  • Death, injury or illness of a close relative not traveling with you
  • You or a traveling companion are called for Jury Service
  • You or a traveling companion are made redundant

It is worth noting there are a few travel insurance policies that offer more extensive cover. This is usually termed as; ‘cancellation due to any cause beyond your reasonable control’.
Beware, most standard travel insurance policies will not provide cover for cancellation due to death, injury or illness of a non-traveling close relative if it is related to an existing medical condition. If this cover is important to you, it may be worth looking for a policy that will offer the cover, there are a few that do.

Is cancel for any reason travel insurance worth it? And When You Shouldn’t Buy it?

As Cancel for Any Reason continues to grow in popularity, more travelers are including the benefit in their travel insurance policy. According to Squaremouth.com, a site for comparing and purchasing travel insurance, Cancel for Any Reason can be a great benefit, but most travelers don’t need it.  “If someone knows their travel insurance policy will not cover them to cancel, they should upgrade their policy to include Cancel For any reason,” says Sarah Byrne, Marketing Manager at Squaremouth.  “However, if someone doesn’t need it, they could end up paying up to 50 percent more for something they are already covered for.”

Many travelers pay extra for Cancel for Any Reason assuming they need the benefit to be able to cancel their trip and receive a refund in the event of illness, injury, inclement weather or terrorism. However, the Trip Cancellation benefit is included in most travel insurance policies and covers travelers for these reasons.
“In most cases, people want to take their trip, and the reasons they would need to cancel are already covered under Trip Cancellation,” explains Byrne. As a result, Squaremouth usually does not recommend upgrading a travel insurance policy to include Cancel for Any Reason.
Cancel for Any Reason was created to offer additional cancellation coverage for the unexpected occurrences that are not covered in a travel insurance policy, such as a visa not arriving on time. It also gives someone the option to decide whether or not they want to take their trip. Without Cancel For Any Reason, someone cannot make a travel insurance claim if they cancel their trip for fear of something bad happening. Cancel for Any Reason allows someone to cancel without providing an explanation, however, travelers are required to cancel 48 hours prior to departing.
In addition to an increase in premium, travelers should not expect a full refund like Trip Cancellation offers. Most travel insurance policies will only reimburse up to 75 percent of the trip cost. MH Ross and Global Alert, both travel insurance providers, are the exceptions with policies that offer a refund of up to 90 percent of the trip cost.
“Understanding the limitations of Cancel for Any Reason can prevent travelers from paying extra for coverage that was already included in the policy,” says Chris Harvey, CEO of Squaremouth.
Before purchasing a travel insurance policy, travelers should review the covered reasons under the Trip Cancellation benefit. If a potential reason for canceling is not listed, they should consider upgrading the travel insurance policy to include Cancel for Any Reason.
